Iva Tasheva

Co-founder and Cybersecurity Lead, CYEN

Iva Tasheva is the co-founder and cybersecurity lead at CYEN, a family-owned micro consultancy established in Brussels in 2018. She helps large public and private sector organisations manage cybersecurity governance, risk and compliance (GRC).

She has experience in the public, digital, transport, banking, medical devices and non-profit sectors. In 2018 she was ranked as top 345 women in cybersecurity to follow by the CyberCrime Magazine.

In addition to her work for CYEN, she is a Board Member of the DPO Circle (community of GDPR and data security professionals) and adviser to SANA, the South African Norwegian Association.

Between 2013 - 2018, she worked at the EPC (European Policy Centre, a think tank), Digitaleurope (industry association), European Parliament, Obelis (regulatory affairs). She started her career in the private sector in Bulgaria in 2009.

As a published author, she is authoring the Bulgarian Guide for Cybersecurity of SMEs, as well as preparing a PhD proposal on the psychology of cybersecurity risk management. She has an MBA (KULeuven) and a Master degree in Cybersecurity (New Bulgarian University). Iva is a Certified ISO 27001 Lead Implementer and ISO 27799 Lead Manager.
