Education, youth and sport attaché at the Permanent Representation of the Czech Republic to EU

After having graduated from Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Sciences, Regional and Economic Geography in 1982 she worked in a Cartography institute mostly on school maps and atlases. Since 1992 she accompanied her husband to his diplomatic missions in Japan, Belgium and China, where she worked at the Consulate or Economic Departments of the Czech Embassies. In 2002 she joined the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic, Department of International Cooperation in Research and Development, where she was involved in the preparation and implementation of the first Czech Presidency in the Council of EU in 2009. In 2010 she moved to Brussels where she joined the Permanent Representation of the Czech Republic to EU on the position of Head of Unit and attaché for research and space policies. Since 2016 she took over education, youth, sport, culture and media policies at the Permanent Representation and in 2022 during the second Czech Presidency of the Council of EU she chaired the Education Committee.
