Francesca Romana D'Antuono

Co-president, Volt Europa

Francesca Romana D’Antuono is the co-president of Volt Europa. She was elected in October 2021, a month after becoming a mum for the first time. She is an Italian multilingual, globetrotter and queer woman living in Berlin. Originally a pharmacist, she specialised in healthcare management and worked as a brand manager, coordinating the global marketing strategy for the respiratory branch of the main Italian pharmaceutical multinational in the field. In 2019 she joined Volt Europa in Italy, out of a belief that economic inequalities are a political choice and not a given – and that it is the responsibility of those who can to drive positive change, especially in light of a fair green transition. She initially led the Florence city team of 50+ activists, and later took on a role as public relations manager in Volt Italy, among other things, coordinating a campaign to grant the right to vote to non-EU citizens at local elections, as well as the biggest rally held against the referendum on cutting the number of parliamentarians in 2020. She has always had a passion for arts, and in 2017/2018 published two books under the pseudonym Francesca Del Mar.
