Fanny Benedetti

Fanny Benedetti is an independent consultant for international organizations, NGOs and the private sector.

A founding member and former Executive Director of UN Women France (2019-2023), Fanny Benedetti specializes in gender, diversity and human development. She has worked for the a United Nations as an NGO representative and for the French Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs.

As advisor to the French Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Social Affairs (2007-2019), she provided strategic advice and led initiatives in the field of women's human rights, notably through the drafting of EU guidelines on violence against women and the elimination of discrimination against them (2008), and leading the French delegation to the Council of Europe for a convention on violence against women and domestic violence (2009-2011).

She brings a wealth of first-hand knowledge and expertise of intergovernmental bodies (UN, Council of Europe, European Union, World Bank), project evaluation and monitoring, as well as expertise in managing a wide range of multi-country projects to support local NGOs and CSOs. She provides training and teaching on international human rights and gender issues.

Fanny is an experienced evaluator of government and UN action. She advises organizations on how to improve their performance through diversity and a people-centered approach.

She is an author and speaker on fundamental rights, gender equality and multilateral diplomacy. Fanny  Benedetti holds degrees in French and Anglo-American law from the Université de Paris X-Nanterre, L.L.M. in international law from the Washington College of Law at American University in Washington DC, and a diploma in leadership, meditation and neurosciences from EM Strasbourg.
