Verena Kaip

Manager, Digital Health, MedTech Europe

I am Verena: 29 years old, born and raised in Austria, and I live in Brussels since February 2020. My guiding principle is “stay hungry – stay foolish” which illustrates perfectly that I love exploring and to learn new things. In general, I have a strong interest in issues surrounding digital health technologies. Before joining MedTech Europe, I worked as Associate Consultant at APCO worldwide and as Implementation Project Manager at the European Society of Radiology, where my team focused on distributing a clinical decision support system in various integration projects across EMEA. Moreover, I participated in the last edition (6th edition; 2020/2021) of the European Health Parliament Initiative, where I was chair of the committee on European Health Data Co-Operation. I hold a master’s degree in ‘Healthcare Policy, Innovation & Management’ (Maastricht/NL), through which I have acquired in-depth knowledge in various fields, e.g. health-systems governance, economics or strategic management. Before that, I have gained professional experience within the field of healthcare IT, as a specialist for clinical applications and project manager where I coordinated IT projects in a group of eight hospitals, in close collaboration with various stakeholders. Moreover, I hold a BSc. in radiologic technology, a field in which I gained hands-on expertise in direct contact with patients - an experience with long-lasting effects on my thinking and professional life.
