Sonsoles Sánchez-Reyes

EDUCATION: Ph.D. in Germanic Languages, Universidad de Salamanca (Spain), 2000; M.A. in Law, Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED), 2005.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Dr. Sonsoles Sánchez-Reyes is a Tenured Professor of English at the Avila Campus of the University of Salamanca, Spain. She is currently deputy President of the University of Salamanca at the Avila Campus, where she is the Director of International Courses and Professor of Foreign Languages at the Spanish National Police Training Center, for which she was awarded a medal by the Home Office of the Spanish Government.

She was Dean at the School of Education and Tourism of the University of Salamanca (2008-2016). She has directed many programs for professional development of in-service teachers, coordinated the Erasmus student exchange program of the European Union at the School of Education and Tourism and been a member of the Assessing Board for the University of Salamanca Entrance Test. She is the nation consultant for Spain at the Global Education Placement Program of Indiana University and the History of Castile lecturer for the Alumni Campus Abroad program in Avila for AHI. 

Dr. Sánchez-Reyes has authored more than 40 chapters of books and articles published in journals and specialized magazines, and has also published five books in the field of ELT and one on literary routes.  She has taken part with a presentation in over seventy conferences and has directed several PhD theses and dissertations. 

Outside the academic field, she was deputy mayor for Culture in the city of Ávila (2011-2019).
