Valencia to host our 2023 Summer School
on 27/02/2023
Following the success of the second edition of the Summer School for Female Leadership in the Digital Age held in July 2022 in Prague, Czech Republic, Huawei’s renowned European Leadership Academy is proud to announce that the third Summer School for Female Leadership in the Digital Age will be held from 25th to 30th June 2023 in Valencia, Spain. The location was revealed today at the Mobile World Congress, during a Women in Tech Salon hosted by Huawei. The Academy programme will once again gather dozens of world-class experts, speakers and mentors, for an intense week-long training that rivals those of MBAs from top universities.
As part of Huawei’s broader initiative Seeds for the Future, the Schools for Female Leadership in the Digital Age represent the company’s continued commitment to furthering digital inclusion; specifically, closing the gender gap, and creating a world where women are empowered to thrive and lead us into an inclusive and sustainable digital future.
Tony Yong JIN, Huawei’s Vice-President of the European Region, and Chief Representative to the European Institutions, said: “The 2023 Summer School will be another outstanding opportunity for future leaders to gain fresh insights into new technologies. Huawei remains committed to supporting European talent and to expand and consolidate their digital skills, also with a focus on the green transition. I look forward to working together with our Spanish partners to deliver an even stronger educational experience ahead of the Spanish EU presidency.”
Berta HERRERO, Head of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion at Huawei Europe and Director of the Schools for Female Leadership in the Digital Age, said: “Women of all backgrounds must be able to be at the helm of the tech revolution, which is why our curriculum equips them with the tools and skills needed to thrive in the digital transition. Most importantly, deserving candidates receive a full scholarship to complete the programme, turning equal opportunities into reality. Whether they come from sciences or from humanities, women have a key role to play in shaping our common future. No one should be excluded from the development of new technologies – in fact, making sure that diversity actually exists within the industry is the first step to building a truly equal, inclusive world, free of biases and discrimination. I am proud that my home country Spain will host the upcoming edition of a programme that is changing so many lives for the best.”

Participants will be selected from each one of the 27 EU Member States. Thanks to our partnership with the European Training Foundation (ETF), there will also be once again a seat for a participant from the Western Balkans Six, and another seat for a participant from Ukraine.
