What is the purpose of this Privacy Statement?

This Privacy Statement gives you information about the personal data we collect about you in relation to European Leadership Academy and how and for what purposes we process your personal data. In Huawei we understand and respect the importance of privacy. This Statement describes how Huawei uses and protects your personal data and how we fulfil our obligations under GDPR.

It also contains a summary of your rights in relation to your personal data.

 Data will be collected directly from you.

Will we process special categories of data?

 No

Are you obliged to provide the personal data? And what the possible consequences of failure to provide such data?
  1. If the processing is based on your consent, providing the data and giving your consent is voluntary.
  2. If the processing is necessary to enter into contract or to fulfil contractual obligations, without your personal data, the corresponding contract cannot be concluded, or a performance of concluded contract can be limited.
  3. If the processing is necessary to fulfil legal obligation, it is mandatory to provide the data based on applicable legislation.
  4. Providing data is voluntary, but necessary in the case of processing based on a legitimate interest indicated below.

For what purpose does Huawei process your personal information?

Contest Participation and notification - If you want to register as a candidate for one of the schools organised by The European Leadership Academy an online registration will be needed in which you will be asked for personal information to be able to contact you and to see if you meet the particpation requirements. You will also be asked for a motivation which will be needed to evaluate your application. Therefore, we need to process the indicated personal data without which we can not properly process your participation.

Register as a candidate for one of the schools organised by the European Leadership Academy:

 Huawei processes your personal data based on your consent. You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time as described in Section 4 of this statement -Article 6 (1) (a) GDPR.

Event registration and notification - If you want to register as a guest for one of the events organised by the European Leadership Academy an online registration will be needed in which you will be asked for personal information to be able to contact and inform you about the event and customise your dietary requirements. Since our events have a high marketing value we also need to process your consent on the use of event pictures.

 Register as an onsite participant for one of the events organised by The European Leadership Academy: First name, Last name, Company/organisation, Title, Email, Phone number, Dietary restrictions, Picture Huawei processes your personal data based on your consent. You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time as described in Section 4 of this statement -Article 6 (1) (a) GDPR

Verification and identification of onsite attendance - In order to verify the identification of onsite attendance we need to process your personal data, without which we can’t verify the identification and it won´t be possible to participate in our onsite session

 Onsite participation in one of the events organised by The European Leadership Academy: First name, Last name, Email address. Huawei processes your personal data based on your consent. You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time as described in Section 4 of this statement -Article 6 (1) (a) GDPR

Electronic Direct Marketing/EDM - In order to send the latest information on news and initiatives taken by the European Leadership Academy.

 First name, Last name, Email Huawei processes your personal data based on your consent. You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time as described in Section 4 of this statement -Article 6 (1) (a) GDPR

Electronic Direct Marketing/EDM - In order to send the latest information on news and initiatives taken by Huawei EU Women in Tech.

2. How long and where do we store your data

We retain your personal data for no longer than that is necessary for the purposes defined in this Statement. In particular

When you visit our pages, we will use cookies and similar technologies to analyse the visit or to provide you with personalized content/advertisements, as described in our cookie policy.

Contest Participation Data related to Contest Particpation will be shared with our Huawei local affiliates in EU/EEA to coordinate the contest. The data
will also be shared with our marketing agencies Mo Ka bv/srl “MO KA”, The Right Street bv/srl “The Right Street” and Crossmark bv/srl “Crossmark’ for statistical, organisational and technical reasons. They have the roles of data processors on Huawei’s behalf. This data will also be partly shared with a selection of ‘Jury’ members in order to be able to make a selection of winners. 
We will enter into a strict entrusting agreement or personal data processing terms with the entrusted parties. The entrusted parties are obligated to process related personal data in accordance with this Statement and our instructions, and take relevant confidentiality and security measures to ensure personal data security.
Event Participation Data related to Event Particpation will be shared with our Huawei local affiliates in EU/EEA to coordinate the event. The data will also be shared with our marketing agencies MO KA, The Right Street and Crossmark for statistical, organisational and technical reasons. They have the roles of data processors on Huawei’s behalf. We will enter into a strict entrusting agreement or personal data processing terms with the entrusted parties. Data related to Event Management will be shared with our Huawei local affiliates in EU/EEA to coordinate the event. The data
will also be shared with our marketing agencies MO KA, Lef Marketing & Events bv “Lef Marketing”, The Right Street and Crossmark for statistical, organisational and technical reasons. They  have the roles of data processors on Huawei’s behalf. We will enter into a strict entrusting agreement or personal data processing terms with the entrusted parties. The entrusted parties are obligated to process related personal data in accordance with this Statement and our instructions, and take relevant confidentiality and security measures to ensure personal data security.

Marketing Lead based on consent / EDM

Marketing Lead based on consent / EDM To respond your request of keeping you informd on new contests and similar initiatives, the relevant data will be shared to our to Huawei EU Public Affairs team and to our marketing agences MO KA, Lef Marketing, The Right Street and Crossmark for statistical, organisational and technical reasons. They have the roles of data processors on Huawei’s behalf. We will enter into a strict entrusting agreement or personal data processing terms with the entrusted parties. The entrusted parties are obligated to process related personal data in accordance with this Statement and our instructions, and take relevant confidentiality and security measures to ensure personal data security.

 To verify if the participant is registered, our event suppliers MO KA and LEF Marketing will verify your name and email address whose server is in Belgium. They have the roles of data processors on Huawei’s behalf. The entrusted parties are obligated to process related personal data in accordance with this Statement and our instructions, and take relevant confidentiality and security measures to ensure personal data security.
(3) Disclosures related to legal requirements and business transactions

Huawei may share your data in response to a legal process or request from a competent authority based on an applicable law or in connection with legal proceeding or process.
Your data may also be disclosed as part of merger, acquisition, sale of assets (such as service agreements) or transition of service to a Huawei group or other relevant company.

 

5. What are your rights and choices?

You can enter into the Huawei Data Subject Request Portal to exercise your data subject right.

Right of Access

 You have the right to obtain from Huawei confirmation as to whether or not Personal Data concerning you is being processed and, where that is the case, access to a copy of the Personal Data and specific information about how Huawei processes your Personal Data.

Right of Rectification (Correction)

 You have the right to obtain from Huawei the correction of inaccurate Personal Data concerning you and also the right to have incomplete Personal Data completed.

Right of Erasure (Deletion)

 You have the right to obtain from Huawei the erasure (deletion) of your Personal Data in particular circumstances.

Right of Restriction

 You have the right to object to the processing of your Personal Data in particular circumstances.

Right of Portability

 In certain circumstances, you have the right to receive your Personal Data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and have the right to transmit those data to another controller. Please bear in mind that the right of portability does not apply in the case of processing personal data on legal obligation or legitimate interests’ basis.

Right to Withdraw Consent

 Where the legal basis of processing Personal Data is based on consent, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time by providing a withdrawal notice to Huawei. Please note, however, that the withdrawal of your consent will not affect any use of the Personal Data made before you withdrew your consent.

Right to lodge a Complaint

 If you consider your Personal Data is not being processed in compliance with the applicable laws, you have the right to lodge a complaint with any relevant supervisory authority.
